Question
THERE ARE A LOT of gruesome crimes that are happening in our world today. What do you think is the reason why God let people responsible for all these crimes, live? Doesn't God have the power to eradicate all of them at once?
Answer:
It is because God is giving these wicked people a fair chance at salvation. In fact, if God would have it His way, "He wants all men to be saved" (1 Timothy. 2:4). That is why; He doesn't just kill anybody who transgresses. II Peter 3:15 states that—
“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;”
God's long-suffering and His presumed postponement of man's punishment is a way of salvation; because He gives people the chance to realize their mistakes. This God-given opportunity is very important for people. This is the reason why He doesn't just impose punishment. If everyone who transgress will automatically be punished, human kind may be annihilated! Who will then face God if He will be the one to count our iniquities? This is stated in the book of Psalms 130:3, and it states—
"If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?"
Nobody could ever stand up in front of God because every man sinneth. This is why God is a forgiving and a submissive God! Just like in the days of Noah, before He destroyed the earth. God gave a span of one hundred twenty year allowance for mankind to repent and for Noah to build the ark; but nobody heeded! Instead of capitalizing on God-given opportunity by repenting, they transgressed even more! This is stated in Ecclesiastes 8:11—
“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
Even so, God can not be tempted nor be moved to kill a person at once. God will remain gracious and submissive for men to be saved. If, after all of these, one does not really repent, that will be the time that God will judge you on judgment day. Take my word for it; Let us not question God for we have no right. I just answered you for you to know righteousness; but frankly speaking, we have no right to question Him! We are not more knowledgeable than God; but I gave you a reason so that you may understand how good God is.
