Deposit or "Lagak" |
|
THERE ARE CHURCHES that teach their members to deposit. The members are given bankbooks. They tell their members that the money that they will deposit will be used in constructing a chapel, and for that reason, they must not miss depositing their financial contribution to the project. In fact, as early as January, the members start depositing, and this will culminate in December – coinciding with their annual thanksgiving. The members are encouraged to deposit the money, instead of keeping it at home, to make sure that they won’t be tempted to spend it. Aside from their savings, which is allotted for the construction of their chapel, they must also deposit for their annual thanksgiving. In other words, the members are burdened with so many financial contributions: they contribute to construct a chapel; they contribute during Thursday and Sunday gatherings, and so many other contributions and solicitations. We will never be against all sorts of collection so long as they are in conformity with the Bible. Unfortunately, they were mere inventions of preachers who implement them! And that is risky, my fellowmen. You are not only wasting your money, but you are also submitting our soul to destruction. Do you know why? Let us read what our Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 15:15— “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leadeth the blind, both shall fall into a ditch.” Will you just let them lead you into a ditch? What is worse is, you do not just let them lead you into a ditch, you even pay them through the donations you make! You willingly give them a part of your earnings, only to find out in the end that, he is leading you to destruction. |
