ime is one thing that humankind was not able to
conquer; instead, time conquers and dominates every
human being. No one is spared. That is why even
kings, magistrates, medical doctors, and poor people
fears time.
The human race is connected and intertwined by time.
One person may be the past, you are the present and
somebody else is the future. Indeed, time connects
the mankind like a chain from the beginning to the
end. However, time will inevitably end in eternity.
In eternity, time is already conquered.
God ordained time. The division of time is measured
by the movement of the planets in the solar system
in relation to the movement of the Milky Way, and by
the Milky Way with other galaxies in the entire
universe, and so on. However, there will come a time
(if we may still call it a time) when the earth, all
the things therein, the heavens and everything
therein will vanish to be replaced by new heavens
and a new earth, which will not be governed by time.
In theoretical terms, science asserts that man can
conquer time only unless he attains the speed of
light. While this may be a calculation or a
miscalculation of scientists, we ought to believe
this only partly because the movement of our planet
and other systems in the universe dictates the
essence of time. In biblical terms, the twinkling of
an eye is considered to have the shortest duration
of time. With modern technology, however, man was
able to put up a clock in which delay in one year
period is only a billionth of a second.
In the Bible, it tells us of the coming of the
perilous times (2 Timothy 3:1-6):
"This know also, that in the last days perilous
times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their
own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are
good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of
pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of
godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such
turn away. For of this sort are they which creep
into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with
sins, led away with divers lusts," (KJV)
We are
undoubtedly living in these perilous times in the
last days mentioned by the Bible. This is the time
where each day is perilous. What the Bible said
contributes to the danger in these present days are:
man's love for money, material wealth, and earthly
things more than their love of God. The imminent
dangers are more spiritual than physical as written
in John 6:63:
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the
flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto
you, they are spirit, and they are life." (KJV)
The
Bible has warned of the rise of false prophets and
"false Christs" due to love of money (2 Peter
2:1-3):
"But there were false prophets also among
the people, even as there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall bring in damnable
heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And
many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason
of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned
words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of
a long time lingereth not, and their damnation
slumbereth not." (KJV)
The false prophets will
deceive millions. Love of God is done the devil's
way or through hypocrisy. They have the form of
godliness, but have denied the power thereof. This
is the worst evil that will prevail in these last
days of perilous times, for millions will be lost
because of people’s presumed claim for godliness,
but denying it by their works. Love of money and
oneself will lead to the proliferation of
unimaginable variety of vices and wickedness among
people (Titus 1:16):
"They profess that they know God; but in works they
deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and
unto every good work reprobate." (KJV)
Godliness by
leaders and their followers was only a camouflage in
exploiting the desires of the flesh (Romans
1:28-32):
"And even as they did not like to retain
God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication, wickedness, covetousness,
maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit,
malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God,
despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil
things, disobedient to parents, Without
understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural
affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the
judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have
pleasure in them that do them. (KJV)
Some
unsuspecting and biblically ignorant people have
unwarily found refuge in what false preachers call
"Salvation!" They readily conform to their leaders'
idea of salvation because they, too, are not willing
to obey exactly God's complete directives in the
Scriptures. They have found solace in their leaders’
invented formula, which are totally unbiblical (2
Timothy 4:3-4):
"For the time will come when they
will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having
itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (KJV)
These people have set aside and ignored the worth of
the Holy Scriptures like Apollo Quiboloy, the pastor
of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, who claims that he
is the seed, the heir, and the audible voice of God
in our time. He claimed on national television that
it is not the Bible for verses but him alone who
should be asked all questions of faith. Quiboloy’s
statements and teachings pose a very great danger to
salvation of people in our days. Where shall we now
go to find real salvation? It is not even safe in
the confines of our own home nowadays
notwithstanding the burglar alarms installed in
every corner of the house and security guards in
every gate. Even with these security gadgets and
measures installed, thieves and deceivers can enter
in our living rooms via the air lanes. Where then
can we find refuge in these horrifying times? The
answer? It is right in the pages of your Bible
(Ephesians 6:11-17):
”The Word of God is an armour
that fits every individuals that believes in it.” (KJV)
The Words of God is armor against evil.
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to stand against he wiles of the devil. For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places. Wheretofore take unto you
the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand. Stand therefore, having your loins grit about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness; And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all,
taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God."
The truth,
the gospel of peace, righteousness, and the sword of
the spirit only mean one thing: THE WORD OF GOD.
Which word? The written word of God (Revelations
1:3):
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that
hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those
things which are written therein: for the time is at
hand." (KJV)
And the rightful preacher of God speaks of the
truths in the Bible (Ecclesiastes 12:10),
"The preacher sought to find out acceptable words:
and that which was written was upright, even words
of truth." (KJV)
"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness
and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with
meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save
your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not
hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (James
1:21-22, KJV)
Let any preacher who will deny the
written word of God and asserts his own fables and
inventions be cursed! (Galatians 1:8):
"But though
we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel
unto you than that which we have preached unto you,
let him be accursed." (KJV)
