he book of the prophet EZEKIEL contains accounts on
the captivity and fall of Jerusalem.
The first part of this book tells how God
commissioned Ezekiel to warn the people about the
eventual fall of Jerusalem. This is written in
chapter 1, verse 24 of the book.
On the other hand, pronouncements of hope after
Jerusalem’s fall are written in chapter 33, verse
48.
We could also read from this book the courage that
Ezekiel showed in exposing the transgressions of
some nations through a vision and through the words
of our Lord. These are recorded in chapter 25, verse
32 of the book.
This book also gave an assurance that God will
continually guide His people, who never fail to
abide by his commandments.
It is believed that the book of Ezekiel was written
in Babylon in 511 BC.
