Esther |
|
In the first part of this book, it could be read how Esther was hailed queen to replace Vashti, who refused to go as instructed by King Ahasuerus. The bravery of Esther was also tackled in this book when she became the mediator between the king and her uncle Mordecai to grant the latter’s request to save his countrymen, the Jews, from the hands of Haman. Mordecai’s greatness was glorified in this book because he prioritized the welfare and benefits of his countrymen. It is believed that the book of Esther was written by Elam and Shusan of Mordecai in 474 BC. Do you know that the longest verse of the bible can be found in this book? It is 8:9. Do you know that this is the only book in the bible where the name of God is not written? |
