The Old Testament (1st Part)

hat are the books that consists the Bible? When, where and who wrote these books?

The Bible was written by 40 writers or scholars who were guided by the Holy Spirit from 1500 BC until AD100. This was written in approximately 1600 years ago.

Do you know that the Bible was written into three different languages? These were Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. Hebrew and Aramaic were used in the Old Testament while Greek was used in the New Testament.

The Old Testament, which has 39 books, consists of: Genesis, written in 1514 BC. Exodus and Leviticus were written in 1512 BC. Numbers and Deuteronomy were written in 1473 BC. These books were written by Moses in the wilderness at Sinai.

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are called Pentateuch. From the two Greek words which mean five books. This part of the Old Testament started from the God’s creation of the world until the historical deliverance of the Israelites from slavery through Moses.
