
he second book of the kings presented painful
events that occurred in the kingdom of Israel and
Judea.
First, it could be read in chapter 1 to 2 how Elias
had the fire came down from heaven, and when he also
made miracles in chapters 3 to 7.
Chapters 8 and 10 presented events when Hazael
reigned as a replacement of his lord to straighten
the mistakes of Israel. The story of Jehu, who was
anointed to reign and destroy the household of Achab
and of Baal, was also contained in this book.
Other governance in Judea and Israel could be read
in chapters 11 to 16, followed by the captivity of
Israel which could be read in chapter 17. In
Chapters 18 to 20, the good governance of Ezechias
in Judah and how God added another 15 years to his
life could be read here.
On the other hand, in chapters 21 to 23 the
wickedness of Manasseh and the good governance of
Josiah could be read.
The last part of this book contains the captivity of
the king of Babylon in Jerusalem which is read in
chapters 24.and 25.
It is believed that prophet Jeremiah wrote the book
of II King in Jerusalem and Egypt in 580 B.C.
