I and II Chronicles

he book of Chronicles is composed of the different kings of Judea. The last part of the book tells the death of King David.

From chapters 1 to 9 of the first book, the succession of generations is contained. It also showed David as a great king who built a temple in the name of the Lord.

The second book narrates the reign of Solomon, which could be read in chapters 1 to 9. This part also reveals the continuous governance of several kings in Judea, namely, Roboam, Abias, Asa, Josaphat, Joram, Ochozias, Joas, Amasias, Uzzias, Joatham, Achas, Ezechias, Manasseh, and Josias, including his children. Their governance could be read in chapter 10 to 36 which also contains the period in the history of the country when the kingdom of Judah and Israel were divided. The end part of the book showed the destruction of Jerusalem, the confiscation of wealth, and the bringing of captives to Babylon.

It is said that the two books of chronicles were written by Ezra in Jerusalem in 460 BC.
